Our remit was to completely revamp an existing Parisian home, located in the 16th arrondissement, to give it a contemporary yet warm feel, while retaining its historical heritage. The inherited shell of the house lacked a modern relevance, so we created a new sense of ‘home’ with a minimal colour palette. The result is a fusion of the past and present.
The home’s generous volumes are celebrated and visual connections maintained throughout, with full-height drapery and a careful play of colour and light. We stripped back the existing alterations to reveal certain ornate elements, such as the curved archways, which were then incorporated into the new design. The result is subtly modern while maintaining the historical character.
