Justerini & Brooks: Burlington Arcade

Interior Design

To mark the 275th anniversary of Justerini & Brooks, the distinguished purveyor of fine wines and rare whiskies, Brave New World was asked to design their first ever boutique and tasting rooms at No.41 Burlington Arcade. The design rests on achieving a fine balance between the simplicity of contemporary retail design with the esteemed heritage of the quintessentially British brand.

By stripping back the facade on the ground floor to the original oak and keeping the interior light and simple - the feeling is of understated, effortless luxury. The scallop shaped panelling and lighting used for the central wine wall takes the eye straight to carefully curated selection of vintage wines. The curve of the iconic Burlington windows is echoed in the shape of the brass and glass bespoke bar. Ascending to the first floor, the space has been thoughtfully designed for wine tastings and intimate dinners. A classic yellow ochre banquette set in oak, is offset by the more modern looking furniture which was designed by Brave New World for the project. Whisky enthusiasts are not left behind, with the lower ground floor dedicated to Justerini & Brooks’ finest whiskies. The photography exhibited in the space was also shot by Brave New World.
