Red Valentino: Botanicals

Campaign

Our ‘Botanicals'’ campaign for Red Valentino broke new ground with its emphasis on independent, pioneering female rebels. Drawing inspiration from ground-breaking Eighteenth-Century female botanists, naturalists and illustrators, the campaign is a celebration of feminine independence and achievement.

Art directed by Julie Rubio and creative directed by Crispin Jameson, the campaign was photographed by the fêted David Gomez-Maestre, and the film was directed by Sarah Elisabeth Blais. Styling by Camila Pole. The campaign sees the models, Lorena Maraschi and Iris Landstra, wearing botanical prints in the style of the peerless Eighteenth-Century illustrator, Mary Delaney. The campaign, inspired by the pioneering early naturalists like Maria Sibylla Merian, fuses femininity with scientific curiosity and independence.
